Shirley A Bunch

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 22, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from noon – 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the National Federation for the Blind or Feed America First.

Shirley was born on May 2, 1929 in North Java, NY, the daughter of James and Mary Gurry Keenan. She began working at Mallory’s in Warsaw, NY before transferring to Pana, IL, where she became the first female supervisor. Shirley later was a machine operator at International Paper in Shelbyville until her retirement in 1990. She also worked at County Market in Shelbyville in the Food Court. Shirley was a member of Shelby Christian Church, Moose Lodge and V.F.W. Auxiliary all in Shelbyville. She married Wayne Bunch on May 9, 1974. He died on March 9, 2007.

She is survived by her son, Bill Reitzel and wife Marilyn of Morton, IL; daughters, Sheila Foor and husband Steve of Hockessin, DE, Cynthia Franz of Maryville, IL and Debbie Shasteen and husband Jerry of Shelbyville, IL; step-son, Bradley Bunch and wife Kim of Ramsey, IL; step-daughters, Margaret Ridgley and husband Steve of Phoenix, AZ, Brenda Logue and husband A.Y. of Tampa, FL, Belinda Baker of Findlay, IL and Holly Allen and husband Kurt of Plant City, FL; 11 grandchildren; 21 step-grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and many step-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne; son, Scott Young; step-son, Brent Bunch; brothers, Francis, James, Donald, Paul and Harold Keenan; sisters, Alice Roche, Lorraine Almeter, Evelyn Henderson and in infancy, Mary Keenan; and three step-granddaughters, Danielle Young, Miranda Sutherland and Ashley Bunch.
