Shirley Mae Fesperman, 83, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 10:20 p.m. Sunday, July 22, 2018 in her residence.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 in Cornerstone Community Fellowship in Shelbyville, IL with Pastor John Curtis officiating. A luncheon will follow the service. Visitation will be from noon – 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the church. Memorials may be given to the Cornerstone Community Fellowship, Shelbyville, IL. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.

Shirley was born on October 12, 1934 in Shelbyville, IL the daughter of Howard Donald “Skimmer” and Vera Mae (Houser) Calvert. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1952 and later from Sparks Business College in Shelbyville, IL. Shirley worked with her mother at Calvert’s Ceramics and Crafts in Shelbyville, IL for many years. She previously worked in as a secretary for the U.S. Navy and Air Force. Shirley was a member of Cornerstone Community Fellowship, Ladies of the Moose #1325, Eagles Lodge #4395, and VFW Auxiliary all in Shelbyville, IL. She enjoyed crocheting, woodworking, and playing Bingo. Shirley married George Allen Fesperman on February 12, 1954.

She is survived by her husband, George of Shelbyville, IL; son, Donald A. Fesperman and wife Kathy of East Palaka, FL; sister, Lennie Wells of Comanche, TX; many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Vera; and sisters, Joanne Storm and Helen Kay Pfeiffer.
