Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2009 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Robert Barr officiating. Visitation from 12:30-2:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Mound Cemetery, Cowden. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Shirley was born on September 4, 1958 in Shelbyville, the daughter of Joseph Ross and Gertha Inez Watson Walker. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1977, where she was active in the F.F.A. She received her Associate’s degree in business and worked in restaurant management for many years. Shirley was an avid Cub fan. She married Michael Todd Wiandt on March 4, 1988.
Surviving are her husband, Michael; son, Todd Allen Wiandt of Shelbyville; mother, Gertha Inez Walker of Shelbyville; mother-in-law, Linda M. Wiandt of Shelbyville; brothers, Leonard Earl Walker of Tower Hill, Larry H. Walker and wife Rose of Shelbyville, and Joseph A. Walker of Sullivan; and sisters, Judith E. Atkinson and husband Don of Taylorville and Carol L. Rentfro and husband Roger of Gadsden, Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ross Walker; father-in-law, Waldo Wiandt; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
