Stanley R Phegley
(September 30, 1937 – March 24, 2018)
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Tim Yankee and Rev. Randy Miller officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association or Donor’s Choice.
Stanley was born on September 30, 1937 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Arthur H. and Katie M. Clemons Phegley. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1955. Stanley worked for Caterpillar Tractor Company in Decatur, IL for over 33 years. He attended the First Baptist Church of Shelbyville, IL and Knobs Baptist Church in Tower Hill, IL. Stanley enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs. He married Freda Jane Boyd on December 15, 1956.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; sons, Keith R. Phegley and wife Linda of Assumption, IL and Roger L. Phegley of Shelbyville, IL; and granddaughter, Kourtney N. (Phegley) Flider and husband Luke of West Chester, OH.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Arthur Phegley in infancy; and sisters, Margie Ballinger and husband Elmer and Barbara Taylor and husband John.
