Stephen F Helton
(January 17, 1950 – June 09, 2019)
Stephen Franklin Helton passed away June 9, 2019 at the age of 69. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Alice Helton and brother Mike Helton. Stephen is survived by his loving wife Linda Helton; children Mathew Helton, Aimee Christner (Jacob), Shelly Cook (Jason) Christina Compton (Chad), Haley Schmidt (Matt); grandchildren Bo, Ashley, Clayton, Maddie, Luke, Silas, and Kairi; great granddaughter Peyton; brother Richard Helton (Toni) and sister-in-law Donna Helton and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Helton proudly served his country as a Marine from 1968-1972. HE will be remembered for his colorful sense of humor, kindness and generosity to all he met and his love for wildlife and traveling.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 21, 2019 In Helton Cemetery with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Casual attire is requested. A celebration of life will be held form 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the home of his daughter Aimee Christner, 814 N. Morgan St. in Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to The Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.
