Tara J. Hudson

Tara Jean Hudson , 49, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at her residence in Shelbyville, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 7, 2024, in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Nathan Woolery officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.

Tara was born on May 16, 1974 in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Thomas D. Welton and Julie A. Hudson. She graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1993. Tara worked at Graphic Packaging in Shelbyville as a lead packer. She enjoyed watching movies, listening to music, and spending time with her family and friends.  Tara was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Shelbyville, IL.

Tara is survived by her son, Jordan Hudson of Shelbyville, IL; siblings, Joshua Ferguson (Megan) of Decatur, IL, Dana Ferguson of Shelbyville, IL, Jennifer Hall (Chad) of Shelbyville, IL, Misty Heitz (Bill) of Kansas, IL, Brent Welton of Shelbyville, IL, Trent Welton (Melissa) of Shelbyville, IL, and David Wheeler of TN; step-mother, Pearl Welton of Lakewood, IL; many cousins; and several nieces and nephews, including Kylie, Ethan, Scarlett, and Nickolas Ferguson.

She was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Welton; mother, Julie Hudson Ferguson; maternal grandparents, Jim and Helen Hudson; and nephew, Jack Ferguson.
