Terry Eugene Gaddis , 63, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 7:13 p.m. Sunday, December 3, 2023 at Sarah Bush Lincoln Hospital, Mattoon, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at Glenwood Cemetery, Blyman Addition, Shelbyville, IL, with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather at Howe & Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday before going in procession to the cemetery. Casual attire is requested. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelby County.

Terry was born on September 1, 1960 in Decatur, IL, the son of Lowell A. and Delores I. (Dowler) Gaddis. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1978. Terry married Melissa Himes on August 31, 2007. Terry was a Master Carpenter and worked at Caterpillar in Decatur for 10 years. He was an easy-going guy that never met a stranger and always wanted to help others.

Terry is survived by his wife, Melissa; mother, Delores Crutcher of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Tom Gaddis and wife Valerie of Shelbyville, IL, and Tim Gaddis of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Susan Stephens of Shelbyville, IL; mother-in-law, Donna Tull of Shelbyville, IL; nephews, Aaron, Derek, and Ross; niece, Sara; and several great nieces and nephews that were very special to Terry.

He was preceded in death by his father; nephews, Ryan and Duran; and great-nephew, Henry.
