Thomas D Welton

Visitation will be Friday, January 12, 2018 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to his family in care of the funeral home.

Thomas was born on October 22, 1952 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Glen Cornelius and Vera Maurine (Hanson) Welton. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a member of the Class of 1970. He began working at P & H Manufacturing in Shelbyville in 1989 and retired in 2015. He married Pearl Marie Burgess on March 21, 1999.

He is survived by his wife, Pearl Burgess-Welton of Lakewood, IL: children, Jennifer Hall (Chad) of Shelbyville, IL, Tara Hudson of Shelbyville, IL, Misty Heitz (Bill) of Kansas, IL, Brent Welton of Shelbyville, IL, Trent Welton (Melissa) of Shelbyville, IL and David Wheeler of TN; brothers, Harold Welton (Jeanna) of Mode, IL, Glen “Jeep” Welton of IN, Gerald Welton of Cowden, IL, Dwight Welton of Beecher City, IL and Glen Welton, Jr. of Mattoon, IL; sisters, JoAnn Smith (Robert) of Beecher City, IL, Shirley Smith (Donald) of Mode, IL, Edna Smith (Fred) of Shelbyville, IL, Retha Orr (Roger) of Shelbyville, IL, Jeanette Welton of Mode, IL, Alice Workman of Akron, OH, and Julie Welton of Effingham, IL; step-mother, Alice Welton of Effingham, IL: fifteen grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack, Don “Curly”, Ted, Mark, Earl and Carl Welton; and sister, Judy Welton.
