Tobe Hilvety

A memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2011 in Union Christian Church in Ramsey with a reception to follow. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the donor’s choice.
Mr. Hilvety was born on August 3, 1933 in Decatur, IL, the son of William F. and Freda V. Newcome Hilvety. He was a graduate of Macon High School and a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Firestone in Decatur until his retirement. Tobe was a member of Union Christian Church in Ramsey and URW Local 713 of Decatur and a former member of ABATE. He was passionate about motorcycles and his grandchildren. He married Shirley A. Jestis on August 3, 1958.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Bill Hilvety and wife Kim of Herrick, IL; daughters, Becky Wilson and husband Norman of Herrick, IL, Shelly Hilvety of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and Crystal Kloever of Toledo, IL; eleven grandchildren; one great grandchild; and brother-in-law, Dave Mulvaney of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Frances D. Mulvaney.
