Trudi L Filchak
(November 14, 1966 – December 31, 2016)
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 3, 2017 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Pastor Mike Pritts officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Gordon Adams Cemetery, near Moweaqua, IL. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Trudi was born on November 14, 1966 in Taylorville, IL, the daughter of Harold A. and Barbara E. (Hardy) Hubner. She graduated from Assumption High School in the Class of 1984 and later earned her Associate Degree from Lake Land College. She worked for WAND-TV in Decatur, IL for over 30 years, where she was a Master Control Supervisor. Trudi was a member of the Henton Church of God. She enjoyed traveling all over and when she married John Filchak on February 25, 1989, they went to the Grand Canyon for their honeymoon. He died on August 20, 1992 and her heart never fully recovered. Trudi was a devoted mother, daughter, sister, aunt, friend, and soon to be grandmother.
She is survived by her son, John Filchak of Moweaqua, IL; daughter, Samantha (Sarah Filchak) Filchak of Dallas, TX; father, Harold Hubner of Assumption, IL: sister, Deborah (Andrew Lambert) Davis of Rockford, IL; and one grandchild, Temperance Elaine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; mother, Barbara; and nephew, Michael.
