Velma Caroline Beitz Culver, 100, of Stewardson, IL, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Monday, May 8, 2017 in Heartland Christian Village, Neoga, IL.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 14, 2017 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL with Pastor David Weaver officiating. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 12:30 p.m. Sunday until time of service. Burial will follow in Stewardson Cemetery, Stewardson, IL. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Stewardson, IL or the National Pediatric Cancer Foundation, 5550 Executive Dr., #300, Tampa, FL 33609. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Strasburg, IL.

Velma was a lifelong resident of rural Stewardson, IL. She was born on August 11, 1916, in rural Stewardson to Fred August Beitz and Anna Marie Pieper Beitz. Velma married Lawrence Elmer Culver on February 20, 1938, in Stewardson, IL. Lawrence passed away on November 22, 1975. Velma was baptized, confirmed and was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stewardson, IL. Velma was a member of Trinity Ladies Aid and enjoyed quilting.

She is survived by her four children, Carolyn Crim, Arlyn (Dottie) Culver, Sharon (John) Beldon and Donna Evans; grandchildren, Walker (Jennifer) Culver, Johnna (Gary) Schultz, Amanda Culver, Vanessa (David) Doedtman, Susan (George) Sorial, Sheri (Todd) Klucker, Autumn (Heath) McCormick, Beth (Jeremy) Martin and Chad (Tina) Evans; and great grandchildren, Wade and Will Culver; Jacob, Jonathan, and Jocelyn Schultz; Hannah, Grace, Audra and Sarah Doedtman; Jonas, James, Fenmore and Sloane Martin; Madison and Laine Evans; Sophia, Johnny, Anna and Mark Sorial; Claire, Ross and Lorelei McCormick; and Morgan and Nathan Klucker.

Velma was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brothers and sisters-in-law, Clarence (Fern) Beitz, Ervin (Mildred) Beitz, and Freddie (Aline) Beitz; and sons-in-law, Cecil Crim and Ron Evans.
