Victor Brown, 85, of Shelbyville, died at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 19, 2008 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 22, 2008 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Kevin Ray officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the First Christian Church of Shelbyville or the Shelby County Senior Citizens Center.

Victor was born on March 7, 1923 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Benjamin L. and Dessie L. Downs Brown. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1940 and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II. Victor was a retired farmer and a substitute rural mail carrier. He also drove a bus for the Shelbyville schools for over 30 years. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Shelbyville. He married Betty J. Clawson on January 23, 1949.

Surviving are his wife, Betty; children, Dianne Peadro and husband Bob of Shelbyville, Julia Myers and husband Mark of Ft. Wayne, IN and Larry Brown of Shelbyville; six grandchildren, Summer Irvin and husband Jordan, Daric Peadro, Brandon Brown, Darci Peadro, Jenni Storm and husband Trevor and Ryan Myers; and two great grandchildren, Maya and Lea Irvin.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
