Violet E Bland
(June 24, 1921 – February 18, 2009)
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Father Don Wolford officiating. Visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to Fair Havens Christian Home or DMH Hospice Care.
Mrs. Bland was born on June 24, 1921 in Fancher, IL, the daughter of Earl and Pearl Dornen Russell. She married Dale K. Bland on May 29, 1937 in St. Louis, MO. He died on July 20, 1992.
Vi leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Sondra (David) Klem, Jim (Bobbie) Bland both of Decatur, and Karen (Steve) Williams of Denver, CO; brothers, Rodney Russell of Arkansas and Terry Russell of Mt. Prospect, IL; sister, Georgia Ward of Phoenix, AZ; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale; two brothers; and four sisters.
