Virgil Severe

In keeping with Virgil’s wishes there will be no service. Howe and Yockey Funeral Home in Shelbyville, IL is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
Virgil was born on May 23, 1944 in Clarksburg, IL, to Walter Lee and Edna Etta (Shanholtzer) Severe. He was the second born of the Severe triplets: Virginia, Virgil and Velma. He attended Shelbyville High School and was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in Korea. Virgil worked for Connelly’s Building Center and the Daily Union and both in Shelbyville, IL. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, listening to country music and working Wysocki puzzles.
He is survived by his son, Michael Whitlatch and wife Michele of Lakewood, IL; sisters, Barbara Mahnke and husband Fred, Virginia Mahnke, Velma Dilley and Wanda Trimble all of Shelbyville, IL; two grandchildren, Felisha Sickles and Jeremy Sickles both of Lakewood, IL; and five great grandchildren, (twins) Jaydon and Anthony Norfleet, Aleigha Edwards, Aiyana Sickles and Lenore Sickles all of Lakewood, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Walter Lee Severe, Jr. and Harvey Severe; sisters, Norma Mose, Dolly Severe, Wilma Severe and Catherine Woolard; and two great grandchildren, Akeelah Norfleet and Thomas Martin.
