Virgil was born on July 31, 2013 in Springfield, IL, the son of Travis Wayne and Rachel Ann Gregg Banfield.
He is survived by his parents; paternal grandparents, Gary & Tamara Banfield of Cynthiana, KY; maternal grandmother, Lucinda Gregg of Shelbyville; paternal great grandmother, Lucille Williams of Cynthiana, KY; and maternal great grandmother, Lois France of Shelbyville.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Darrell Gregg.
