Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. E. Wade Helmkamp officiating. Visitation one hour before services on Wednesday. Burial will be in Howe Cemetery, near Shelbyville with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Honor Guard.
Mr. Smith was born on April 24, 1933 in Shelby County, Illinois, the son of Clarence R. and Mabel Z. Forcum Smith. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and retired after a career in military service.
Surviving are his sister, Doris Barker and husband Gayle of Shelbyville; sister-in-law, Carolyn Smith of Goreville; nephews, Larry Smith, Scott Smith, Jeff Barker and Nicholas Smith; and nieces, Teresa Maxwell and Ann Marie Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Larry Mitchell Smith and Richard Smith.
