Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Visitation from noon – 2:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville.
Mr. Workman was born on December 26, 1917 in Effingham County, IL, the son of Rhodey Odell and Flossie Doris Washburn Workman. He married Ruby Lucille Veech on September 24, 1939. She preceded him in death on September 8, 2001. W. C. and Ruby were partners in farming and retired from the Findlay area. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Shelbyville and a lifelong member of the Kum Dubble Sunday School Adult Class and the Shelby County Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his nieces, Patricia (Rodney) Williamson of Neoga, IL, Carol (Larry) Hinton of Gainesville, FL, Rose (Mark) Kennedy of Poplar Bluff, MO, Janet (Ken) DeVoe of Sheridan, IL, Vicki (Terry) Burns of Carlinville, IL, Cathy Workman of Carlinville, IL, and Judy (Robert) Nelson of Belleville, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby; and three brothers, Raymond “Red” Workman, Charles “Chick” Workman, and Oscar Workman.
