William A Bonser
(November 12, 1909 – March 04, 2010)
Bill was born in Pana, IL, to Harry A. and Nell Gross Bonser on November 12, 1909. He married Roberta M. Young on October 17, 1931. Roberta died in December 12, 1986, and he later married Virginia Limer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fred Bonser.
Bill was a special agent for Country Companies Insurance for 37 years in Shelbyville and Heyworth, IL. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and spent his vacations in the north woods and Canada. After retiring, he lived in Englewood, FL, in the winter and at his Lake of the Ozarks home in the summer.
He is survived by his son Rodney (Patricia) Bonser of Sun City West, AZ, and two daughters Beverly (Dean) Anderson of Lincoln IL, and Nancy Popejoy of Niceville, FL. He also had 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was a remarkable man for his physical and mental strength and lived his life to the fullest. A celebration of his 100th birthday was held at his son’s home in Arizona in November of 2009. There were 23 loving family members in attendance. He was happy and healthy and enjoyed every minute of his 100 years.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 19, 2010 in Glenwood Cemetery with Gary Young officiating. Arrangements are by Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville.
