William John “Bill” Collins, 67 of Shelbyville, IL, formerly of Neoga and Hoffman Estates, IL, died at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Shelby Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Mark Sanders officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 14, 2015 in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL with military rites by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Memorials may be given to the Shelby County Honor Guard.

Bill was born on April 2, 1948 in Chicago, IL, the son of Robert E. and Catherine L. Gill Collins. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. Bill was a supervisor at the JJ Collins Printing Company in Charleston, IL. He attended the Shelby Christian Church and was a member of VFW Post #4829 both in Shelbyville, IL.

He is survived by his sons, William Collins, Jr. and wife Lindsay of Herrick, IL and Brian Collins and wife Kelsey of Shelbyville, IL; brothers, Robert Collins and wife Carese of Menomie Falls, WI and James Collins and wife Jeanne of Philo, CA; sisters, Catherine McPartline and husband James of Appleton, WI and Virginia Litz and husband Jack of Michigan City, IN; and four grandchildren, Liam, Harper and Avery Collins of Herrick, IL and Knox Collins of Shelbyville, IL.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
