William J Hudson

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Hudson Cemetery, Shelbyville with military rites conducted by the Shelby County Honor Guard. Visitation from 9:00-10:00 a.m. Wednesday in Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville. Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or donor’s choice.
Mr. Hudson was born on March 6, 1940 in Shelbyville, the son of Andrew P. and Nelda A. Black Hudson. He graduated from Shelbyville High School in the Class of 1958 and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Roy Vanderpool American Legion Post #81 of Shelbyville and V.F.W. Post #6410 of Sullivan and a former member of Moose Lodge #1294 of Shelbyville. He was a retired truck driver, working for the Oliver Corporation and Sloan’s.
Surviving are his son, Richard Hudson and wife Kristen Fry of Jacksonville; daughters, Sherry Fillman and husband Fred of Mattoon and Brenda Ward and husband Bill of Strasburg; brother, Bob Hudson and wife Marilyn of Shelbyville; sister, Linda Mars and husband Monte of Strasburg; and eight grandchildren, Zach Hebert, Kacy and Joshua Fillman, Blake and Josh Phegley, Kelsy Ward and Rebecca and Aric Hudson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Andrew Hudson; step-father, John “Connie” Stockdale; mother, Nelda Hudson Stockdale; brother, George Hudson; and grandson, Adam Lee Hebert.
