William Lee “Bill” Calvert, 53, of Tower Hill, IL, died at 5:40 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2014 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL with Rev. Lynette DeAtley officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Casual attire is requested. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery, Tower Hill, IL. Memorials may be given to Saving Orphaned Animals in Shelbyville, IL.

Bill was born on June 6, 1960 in Ft. Jackson, SC, the son of Harold R. and Barbara Cole Calvert. He was raised in Tower Hill, IL and attended Tower Hill High School. Bill began working as a machinist for the Mueller Company in Decatur and then worked for 16 years in the maintenance department at the Shelby County Detention Center. He also owned and operated Kustom Signs and Graphics in Tower Hill, IL. Bill was a former Tower Hill Village Board Member, serving for 12 years. He was a charter member of Yamaha Star Touring & Riding Association, Chapter 110. Bill enjoyed motorcycle riding, photography, mowing, and conversing, as he never knew a stranger. He married Regina Ann Webb on September 15, 1984.

He is survived by his wife, Regina; daughters, LeeAnn Renae Calvert and Staci Lee Calvert both of Shelbyville, IL; parents, Barbara and Lewis Mitchell of Tower Hill, IL; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Buford and Elaine Webb of Tower Hill, IL; brothers, Virgil Calvert (Randy), Jim Calvert and Dennis Calvert all of Tower Hill, IL and Rick Calvert (Sandy) of Hillsboro, IL; sisters, Bobbie Calvert and Jeannie Hutchcraft both of Tower Hill, IL; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews; and many special friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold V. and Thelma Calvert; and his maternal grandparents, Joe and Lillian Cole.

Bill’s family would like to extend their gratitude to Shelby Memorial Hospital and their staff, Decatur Memorial Hospital and their staff, Dr. Guaglianone, Kelly Bandelow, RN, and Dr. Oligschlaeger.
