Willie L. “Bill”Peterson , 77, of Shelbyville, IL, passed away at 9:45 p.m. Monday, August 22, 2022 in his residence.

Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL.  Visitation will conclude with a special song and a prayer at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services will follow in Swedish Lutheran Cemetery, Stewardson, IL.  Memorials may be given to D.O.V.E. in Shelbyville, IL.

Bill was born on July 6, 1945 in Shelbyville, IL, the son of Carl and Lois (Osborne) Peterson. He worked at Shelby County Community Services in Shelbyville for over 30 years. Bill enjoyed fishing, karaoke, and loved all things John Wayne. His favorite pastime was sitting on his front porch and waving at everyone that drove by his home on South Vine Street.

Bill is survived by his brother, Harold Peterson (Pat) of Shelbyville, IL; sister, Rosemary Lewis (Brad) of Shelbyville, IL; eight nieces and nephews, and six great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers, Eugene and Bob Peterson.
