Winston Bernard Campbell, 75, of Shelbyville, IL, died at 4:25 p.m. Saturday, December 8, 2012 in St. John’s Hospital, Springfield, IL.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 15, 2012 in the First United Methodist Church in Shelbyville with Dr. Bruce Owens and Rev. Dan Siebert officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Habitat for Humanity in Shelby County or the First United Methodist Church-Parsonage Fund.

Mr. Campbell was born on July 21, 1937 in Detroit, MI, the son of Stephen Robert and Eddie Eugenia Barron Campbell. He was a graduate of Louisiana Polytechnic Institute, where he earned his Bachelors of Science Degree in Forestry. Winston married Ann Long in 1957. He served in the U.S. Navy Reserves in Alexandria, LA. Winston began working for the Army Corps of Engineers as a Ranger at Bull Shoals Lake in Mountain Home, AR and later became the Lake Manager. In 1977, Winston became the Lake Manager of Lake Shelbyville and moved his family to Shelbyville, IL. He retired in 1999 after 22 years at Lake Shelbyville. Winston was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Shelbyville Rotary Club, Habitat for Humanity in Shelby County and American Red Cross.

He is survived by his wife, Ann; daughters, Jan Jesse of Shelbyville, IL and Teresa Campbell of Fayetteville, AR; brothers, Jack Haskell Campbell and wife Betty of Fairfield Glade, TN and Robert Campbell and wife Gerry of San Francisco, CA; grandchildren, Waylon Jesse and wife Michelle of Springfield, IL, Clayton Jesse of Shelbyville, IL, Adrian Luke Jesse and girlfriend Jessica of Champaign, IL, Christian Scott-Michael Holland of Fayetteville, AR and Sarah Nicole “Nikki” (Holland) Berenguel and husband Justin of Fayetteville, AR; great grandchildren, Blue and Nora Berenguel both of Fayetteville, AR; and several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Scott Michael Campbell.
