Regina Ann Franz
(January 4, 1957 – July 21, 2024)
Our beloved Regina Ann Franz, 67, of Shelbyville, IL passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, surrounded by her children and her loving companion at HSHS St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, IL.
Ann was born on January 4, 1957, in Shelbyville, IL, to parents John and Helen Baker of Shelbyville, IL. She graduated from Shelbyville High School Class of 1975 and went on to obtain a degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois Class of 1979. While there she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta sorority. Ann went on to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse in 2013. She was full of love, laughter, and resilience with a love of art and travel. Ann always enjoyed dining out and spending time with her grandchildren. We take solace in the fact that she was a devout Catholic.
She was survived by her loving companion, John Strohl; her children, Joshua (Jenna) Franz, Samantha (Matthew) Dobbs, Bailey (Nerius) Jankauskas, and Elizabeth (Jonathan) Aparicio; her grandchildren Lucy Franz, Ivy Franz, Eleanor Dobbs, Evelyn Dobbs, Lucah Jankauskas, Rory Jankauskas and Sadie Jankauskas; her father John J. Baker, Jr.; her siblings Barbara (Adrian) Harless and Richard Baker.
She was preceded in death by her mother Helen Baker and brother John Baker III.
Private family graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2024, in Glenwood Cemetery, Shelbyville, IL, with Father Pawel Augustyniak officiating. Arrangements are by Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville, IL. Memorials may be given to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church and mailed to Howe & Yockey Funeral Home, 415 North Broadway, Shelbyville, IL.
