Wanda P Hardy

Wanda Pauline Hardy, 86, of Tower Hill, died at 3:43 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2009 in Shelbyville Manor.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 22, 2009 in Howe and Yockey Funeral Home, Shelbyville with Rev. Derrick Ritchie officiating. Visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society.

Mrs. Hardy was born on December 28, 1922 in Cooks Mills, Illinois, the daughter of Austin and Hazel Black Wilcoxon. She worked at Brown Shoe Factory in Sullivan. Wanda was a member of the Tower Hill Christian Church, Shelby Co. Historical Society, Order of the Eastern Star, and Odd Fellow-Rebekah, where she was a member of their kitchen band. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She married Ralph Clark Hardy on December 22, 1941 in St. Charles, MO. He died on May 13, 2001.

Surviving are her children, Charles Hardy and wife Carleen (Foor) of Tower Hill, Linda Pritts of Dalton City and Barbara Hubner and husband Harold of Assumption; grandchildren, Clay Hardy and wife Kim, Luke Hardy and wife Penny all of Tower Hill, Chad Hardy and wife Carrie of Moweaqua, Matt Hardy and wife Dawn of Tower Hill, Mark Pritts and wife Jennifer of Clarksville, TN, Gina Howard (Pritts) and husband John of Argenta, Trudi (Hubner) Filchak of Moweaqua, Deborah Davis of Rockford; great grandchildren, Josh Hardy of Nashville, TN, Seth Hardy of Mt. Carmel, Niki Hardy of Springfield, Coulter Hardy of Tower Hill, McQuade Hardy and Mackenzie Hardy both of Tower Hill, Brittany Pritts of Mahomet, Landon Pritts, Tristan Pritts and Grayson Pritts of Clarksville, TN, John Filchak of Carbondale and Samantha Filchak of Moweaqua, Tiffany Davis, Matthew Davis and Alexander Lambert of Rockford; great great grandchildren, Inessa and Aiyanna Hardy of Springfield; step-grandchildren, Nathan West, Nicholas West and Kristen Berry all of Tower Hill; two brothers, Ron Wilcoxon and wife Carolyn of Mattoon and Randy Wilcoxon of Windsor; and neighbor and best friend, Granny Jones of Tower Hill.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; parents; sisters, Opal Beck and Myrna Rankin; brothers, Seth and Keith Wilcoxon; great grandson, Michael Davis; grandson-in-law, John Filchak; and son-in-law, Bill Pritts.
